Typing has never been so easy!
Swype is an impressive text input app that lets you to type on your phone without lifting your finger from the on-screen keyboard. Once you have the hang of it, typing will become lightning-fast and really easy.
Before you start, there are a few things to bear in mind about Swype. This is Swype beta, which means you will have to register and follow the process detailed on the website to install. It's also software that doesn’t come from the Android Market, which means you’ll have to specifically allow your phone to install it. This doesn’t mean the software is dangerous, but it does mean that you install Swype at your own risk.
Now that we have the serious stuff out of the way, we can start on the fun part. Swype has excellent help, and the 'getting started' tutorial is highly recommended, as it will show you how to add "advanced" characters like double letters, punctuation and new words.
Once you have completed the Swype tutorial, you just need to get practicing by using the app. Obviously, you use it wherever you write on your phone – emails, SMS, any apps you write in – and once you have enabled it, it will kick in automatically.
There are extensive Swype configuration options, and it’s worth taking a look so you can change languages, enable and disable advanced settings and tweak the speed/accuracy ratio.
